Robert J. Mitchell, Esq.

Robert Mitchell joined Suris & Associates, P.C. in 2020 to manage the Trusts & Estates Division of the firm and to assist the Real Estate Division. Prior to working at the firm, Robert worked over five years at a respected elder law firm in Garden City.  He concentrated on estate administration, estate planning, Medicaid planning and applications, and Article 81 guardianships.  He has successfully represented clients at Surrogate’s Court and Supreme Court in various proceedings as well as at Medicaid Fair Hearings.  Robert is qualified to serve as Court Evaluator, Guardian ad Litem, and Counsel for Alleged Incapacitated Persons in Nassau, Suffolk and Queens Counties.

Robert received his Juris Doctorate cum laude from Touro Law.  He was on the Executive Board as Research Editor of the Touro Law Review.  During law school, Robert was one of the most published members of the Touro Law Review.  Upon graduation, he was awarded the Most Outstanding Student of the Fraternity in the Nation from the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity International.

Robert obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University in three years.

He survived and graduated with honors from Chaminade High School.

Robert is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut.

He has two wonderful children with whom he enjoys taking to baseball and hockey games, rock concerts, shooting ranges, amusement parks, historic destinations, skiing, and mountain biking.
